• Every project must deliver appropriate business value for the investment. The Business case must identify the value from the project, in clear terms.

• Visualise the outcome. Teams must know what they are building.

• Deliver value quickly and regularly. Large and complex projects must be broken into smaller and simpler units.

• A smaller subset of all requirements delivers the largest value. Requirements that offer the highest value also tend to have a higher risk. Identify and prioritise the smaller subset based on value. Win quickly or fail quickly. 

• People and teams must deal with ambiguity and change. Progress wins over perfection.
